Everything you love
is here.

One shared home.
The other side lives here too.

Our lives unfold on this dot. The people we love are here. So are our hopes, and our disagreements about how to live.

The view from afar does not solve our conflicts. But it sharpens a question: how do we treat the people we share this world with – especially those we do not understand? Agora Humanum is my writing project about that question. I look for answers with empathy, reasons we can examine and one standard that applies to everyone: equal dignity.

A thought experiment in changing perspectives

What would be fair if the other side were in charge?

Taking responsibility means setting limits on power — including our own.

A brief change of sides

Imagine your political side decides which criticism gets to be heard in public.

That might sound tempting while it affects the people you consider dangerous.

What if the other side is in charge?

Now it affects you.

The rule is the same. But now someone you do not trust decides whether your voice is heard. What limit would protect your right to disagree?

Agora’s position is that power needs rules that bind our own side too. That does not mean accepting every expression. Limits must have reasons, be open to review and apply equally to everyone.

Our shared future

For the life
we share.

Many of those affected by our decisions have no seat at the table: children who cannot vote, people not yet born and animals no one asks. Deciding fairly means weighing the consequences for them as well. For Agora, a fair society and protecting the natural world we depend on belong together.

A beginning can be small: a question, a conversation, a new perspective. Bring yours.
